A cup in our class

Today David Collins and Tadhg Haran came to visit our class along with our PE teacher Katie.
They showed us the cup they won in the Leinster Hurling final.
Well done lads, we are really proud of you.
Some of us already play hurling or camogie with Liam Mellows club.
The rest of us would love to try!

The whole world

One of our wonderful mammies Lorainne has painted our yoga ball as the world!
We need the world for our class drama.
We can't believe what a wonderful world we have. (Of course the kids helped lots too!)
We have never seen a globe as gorgeous as our one!

Flags and maps

Since all the countries of the world have their own flags, we thought it would be nice if there was a special flag for Pancake Tuesday.  Look at the wonderful flag that Jack designed for us for Pancake Tuesday!

Jack also designed a 3D map for us.  We love this one.  It shows a building in the middle surrounded by a museum, bowling, an ice cream shop and a toy shop.
Map making is lots of fun.
Well done Jack!

Hurling stars

Today we were at PE with Katie and she had some great news for us. David Collins and Tadhg Haran are coming to visit out school on Monday the 11th of February. So dust off those Galway jerseys to show some support. They are bringing the trophy they won in the Leinster Final last year!
Galway won the Leinster Final in 2012

Tadhg Haran plays for Galway and Liam Mellows

David Collins plays for Galway and Liam Mellows too.
After this great news , we practiced our own hurling skills with Katie. There were goals galore!!

Learning about flags

Our class is very interested in flags.
We had a lovely surprise today.  Mr. O'Riordan from the school invited the flag raisers from 6th class in the senior school to come and talk to us about the flags they raise every day.
Then we visited 3rd class where the flags are stored and we were taught lots of interesting things about flags from different countries.

Japanese good luck day
